The Total Re-election of the Congress Movement (1987-1991)
After the KMT government retreated to Taiwan in 1949, the makeup of the National Assembly remained the same for almost half a century. On December 25, 1987, the DPP started the Total Re-election of the Congress Movement. It lasted for several years and garnered the support of tens of thousands of people, including the full backing of Changhua residents.
