The Unsung Heroes of the Changhua Plain: A Brief Introduction -

Li Chi-shui (1954-)

Li became an opponent of the KMT after hearing some bold comments from the broadcast of a campaign truck and following it all the way back to the campaign’s headquarters. As the owner of a printing factory, he often printed posters for free and put them up by himself. Later he began to keep a record of the streets protests, such as videotaping the process of pulling down the statue of Wu feng in Chiayi. Even though he was dragged into public toilet and seriously beaten by riot police during the April 19 Direct Presidential Election Demonstration, he still remained unfazed in the face of state violence.
