  • 1986- The May 19 Green Action at Taipei’s Longshan Temple to protest against martial law

  • 1987- The March 7 Changhua Incident (also known as the Changhua February 28 Peace Day Promotion Incident)

  • 1988- Demonstration in Chiayi to support indigenous people pulling down the statue of Wu feng in protest of the national myth that Wu “civilized” the locals.

  • 1988- The May 20 Peasant Movement (in Taipei)

  • 1988- Let the Blacklisted Home Movement in Taipei, which supported the rights of the blacklisted overseas dissidents who wanted to return Taiwan

  • 1989- Demonstration in Taichung supporting the blacklisted journalist Chen Wan-chen

  • 1989- The Changhua Environmental Protection Union staged the March 3 Anti-FCFC Action to protest against air pollution caused by the Formosa Chemicals & Fibre Corporation

  • 1989- Protest against pollution from the Tsháu-Á-Poo Transfer Station in Changhua

  • 1989- A demonstration at the funeral procession of Cheng Nan-jung, the Taiwanese independence martyr who died in self-immolation.

  • 1995- Shuiwei residents protest against the establishment of a waste incinerator

  • 1997- Fishermen from Wangkung village protest against local marine pollution in Changhua

  • 1997- The May 18 Walk for Taiwan Demonstration in Taipei demanding Premier Lien Chan's resignation over the rise in violent crimes

  • 1999- Protest rally in Taipei against political corruption while calling for the abolition of the National Assembly

  • 2000- Taiwan’s first peaceful transition of power, with Chen Shui-bian and Annette Lu being elected the 10th president and vice-president of R.O.C (Taiwan)
