The Unsung Heroes of the Changhua Plain: A Brief Introduction -

Wu Chia-tsai (1920-1994)

Also a former Taiwanese Imperial Japan serviceman, Wu spent his early years as the canvasser for Kuo Yuhsin and Kuo Kuochi, the influential dissident politicians in the martial law period. When Hung hua and Chen Nan-jung organized the New Nation Movement to tour around Taiwan, Wu was in charge of its campaigns in Changhua. Born into poverty, Wu did not have much chance to receive higher education; however, he was widely respected as a passionate and idealistic volunteer in the DPP’s Changhua county chapter.
