The Unsung Heroes of the Changhua Plain: A Brief Introduction -

Nien Chia-tsai (1963-)

Full of curiosity and longing for a free and easy life, Nien quit higher education as high school freshman. When doing his mandatory military service serving with the coastal defense force, he was often sent to disciplinary confinement for challenging outdated rules and the abuse of power. After leaving the military services, he became a legendary figure both as a street activist and a community college lecturer promoting ideas of democracy through lessons of furniture manufacturing.
